Ventoy is an open-source project that reinvents how bootable USB media works. Instead of writing one operating system onto a stick and repeating that process every time you need a different image, Ventoy prepares the drive once and lets you copy ISO, WIM, IMG, VHD and EFI files directly onto it. At boot time a small menu lists everything on the drive so you can pick what to run.
The project was created in 2020 by developer longpanda and has since grown into one of the most-starred bootable-media tools on GitHub. It is distributed under the GPLv3 license and maintained openly on GitHub, with an active issue tracker and a healthy stream of contributions.
Design philosophy
The goal is simple: make managing bootable images feel like managing files. Everything else — legacy BIOS support, UEFI, Secure Boot, ARM64, persistence, themes — is layered on top of that idea without breaking it.
